On Baram

In Korean, baram is the wind that moves through an open window — soft, unhurried, almost unnoticed.

We started Book Baram to bring that same feeling into a reading practice. Every month, a small editorial team in South Korea reads, argues, and finally chooses one Korean book — a novel, a quiet essay, a graphic book — that we would happily press into the hands of a Korean learner.

We handpick books that are immersive, approachable, and provide meaningful cultural discovery to international Korean readers. It arrives wrapped in hanji 한지, with a reading note from the editor, and a companion gift to accompany the reading.
